Jamie The Riveter

I finished the corset apron, and it's HOT! The corset is not complicated, you don't need an extra person to put it on, although with Valentine's day around the corner it might be fun to have your Valentine help you lace it up=) There are only 3 rows of eyelets because I didn't want it to be a pain in the arse to lace up.

When I hammered in the eyelets I felt like this woman....

There I was, goggles on, hammer in hand, sleeves rolled up, "...everyone stand back! I got bizness to take care of." I began to hammer with every ounce of strength I had in my feeble body. Beads of sweat began to appear on my forehead. One eyelet two eyelets, three eyelets .....after I finished the last eyelet I forced myself to my feet. The room darkened, a light shown down on me and I said, with hammer in hand, "what else needs fixin round here?"

OK, OK maybe that's a little exaggerated. No I didn't wear goggles, my body is far from being feeble, and I didn't offer to fix anything in the house. I did use a hammer, and it was empowering. Here's the back of the apron which will be up in the shop today.
