Nato's paintings

As I mentioned in the previous post, my family and I made each other's Christmas gifts this year. Below is what my brother painted for my parents...

for my sister...

and for me...

My pictures hardly demonstrate how beautiful my brother's paintings really are. The colors are much more vibrant than depicted here. Originally, he had painted the middle picture for me, but he thought it might scare the kids. I told him "Ah! That's nothing. You should see some of the commercials that appear between kid shows." =)

I'm always amazed with this type of art, because somehow the artist can paint a crooked nose, an off centered mouth with blue skin, and its still a beautiful work of art. Not so with me. I have tried to paint this way and in the end it looks like my 3 year old made it. I asked my brother if he sketched it first? "No," he responded. I then asked, "Did you look at a similar painting or person (some of his friends are...er... uh... different looking)?" "No. I just started with the background and went from there," he said. In his opinion, he believes a lot of people paint too small. He prefers to use all of the canvas space to combine the colors to work together. Well, whatever my brother's method is, I just think it's beautiful and provocative at the same time.

As some of you may know, he is a musician as well. I always like to share the new things that are going on with him and his band. Here is The Drowning Men's most recent video More Than This.

Next week I will show you more handmade gifts from the family, including a handmade gift from my Pop. I'm also gearing up for a big shop update with new aprons. There will be reversible aprons, non-reversible aprons, corset aprons, and a new design! I'm also anxious to show you a new item I'll be adding to the shop. But first, I want to finish the pattern for it. Hopefully, I will complete that soon. In the mean time, have a happy weekend!

A family full of talent! Hardly seems fair that it all ended up in one family... *wink*

Wow, Loved seeing Nate sing. So weird for me to see you guys all grown up. I still think of you all as teen agers. Funny how that happens. I can't believe how talented you all are.
