I am determined to turn Dragonfly into a sun dress by summer. Mark my words! =)
This apron, named Aloha, is special to me because it reminds me of Hawaii. My husband and I spent our first year of marriage there while he finished up school. We have a lot of memories from that island, some good and some bad, but all were necessary to get us to where we are today... in love. I know, that sounds pretty sappy, but it's a big deal for me to be able to say that. I, like most people, went into marriage with a certain idea of how it was supposed to be and what type of role my mate was supposed to have. Then, I freaked out when I realized my "idea" wasn't going along as planned. I've been married for almost 14 years and thankfully, my "idea" was completely dissolved so I could experience the true meaning of selflessness, friendship, and love.
One of my most valuable lessons learned from my experience working as a personal trainer is knowing how to make muscles stronger. The only way to do this is by stressing them. My clients loved the results, but all (even me) hated the process. Eventually your muscle will adapt to the stress you give it thus becoming stronger. I believe the same can be said about marriage. When our relationship became strained, as a couple, we had to adapt to the stress, and with time, our relationship became stronger. Anyways who'd of thunk all of that could of come from an apron? Now having written that, I will probably get in huge fight with my man tonight and threaten to serve him divorce papers. Just joking!
