The Neti Pot

This is my husbands belated birthday gift from his Mom............pause...............still pausing..... Oh there is so much comic material here, but I can't go there ;)

Seriously, it was a great gift for my husband who has recently developed allergies. It was also a great Easter gift for all of the family that was present to witness my husband try the nasal pot. The name of the product is the Neti pot as seen on Oprah' show. After he opened his gift, we all encouraged him to give it a try. He did. His first attempt was rather pathetic. To use the Neti pot correctly, you have to pour the water in one nostril and the water should come out of the other nostril. Apparently my husband has more than one passage way other than his nose. His face had so much water all over it, you would have thought it came out of his eyes, mouth, ears, and cheeks. We then decided to read the directions which look like this.....

I was rolling when I viewed the last pic. She looks so beautiful while pouring the water mixture in one nostril and out the other. I can only imagine how the photo shoot went.
Photographer: "Hold it. Hooooold it. Good. Now give me a sexy look. Hold it. Great! Let's do it again!
Did her agency tell her what the shoot was for? Likely not. How many pics did they make her take? How did her nose feel after all of the cleansing? Poor thing. But very talented.

My husband claims it has helped - it's the gift that keeps on giving.

Was this a gag gift? Cuz, I'm rolling!

I bought one two years ago, and I got a "brain freeze" effect. I'm sticking to my "Ocean" saline spray from Costco. I hope your honey gets better results than I did.

Tempted to try one, but am afraid I may get the brain freeze effect.... BUT the lady on the instructions looks totally satisfied with hers... lol

(wondering if I can get a gig like that too)

I have a similar contraption to the neti pot and I must say... using it is about as frequent for me as pulling weeds. The contraption makes me feel pathetic... all that salt water up my nose reminds me of horrid childhood memories of flailing in the swimming pool during FORCED swimming lessons. I never did get swimming down very well. Yuk.

That model is quite funny. I bet she loathed every minute of that photo shoot.

I'm sorry but that's gross! I had a friend come stay from India and she did that in the bathroom!! Have not invited her back. But they do reckon it's a good thing.

The instruction girl isn't breathing in that photo - her mouth is closed! Poor thing.

I am cracking up!!! I've never used one myself, but my husband has one (a gift from his mother, actually) and his first attempt was similar to your husband's. I've never looked at the instructions for his.

Hi! I've got one similar here (I'm from Barcelona, Spain)for me, for my sinusitis, and it works! I agree it's not easy to use it, but it's totally worth doing it.
The picture is not very realistic because you have to tilt your chin down, at least that's what I do.

My parents have one of these and I've heard them talk about but have never seen it. It really looks like a child's plastic tea pot! Weird.

It won't truly have success, I believe this way.
