Phew - I finished it! This little (turned big) project, began a couple of weeks ago and for me that's a long time to spend on one project. It would have been a lot quicker, but as I mentioned in my previous post, I kept getting distracted. It's amazing all of the little woodland things you can create once you've cracked the code.
About the garland, the bird design is inspired by Alexander Henry's Starling fabric. The wings and belly were simply raw edge appliqued on with a running stitch.
As for the idea of the birds attached to the sticks, that came from Anthro (very, very cute, but I'm not really an owl person).
The Holiday Dangles are from a free download via Allsorts. Jenny B (allsorts) has more downloads and tutorials on her sidebar (love these and this). The JOY dangles are by me, which explains their extremely hand-made look. My youngest has already attempted to peel off the J and use the O for target practice with his jets... not cute =)
Lastly, if you are looking for some garland inspiration, or if you have made your own garland and would like to share it, you must check out the flickr group Ga-ga for Garland. However, be aware that you can easily spend a couple of hours looking at all of the pretty garland.

Wow, that is really beautiful!
stinkin' cute!
i see potential for an advent calendar with a design like this, too!
Oooooh an advent calander is a great idea.
What pretty birdies. How many hours did that take?
Gloria - I don't know because I didn't work on it for a continuous time frame. Maybe 2 hours which = 2 weeks???
This remembers me from when I was a kid playing in the garden with my sister all summer long.
This won't truly have success, I think this way.
Very spanking to see those .
